On-command drive system
Kodiak 450 brings Yamaha’s renowned combination of the industry’s most durable automatic transmission—Ultramatic—with the rider-centric control and traction of On-Command selectable 4WD. The result is outstanding capability with the confidence to get you through the most challenging terrain and back again.

Heavy duty tires
Beefy 63,5 tyres feature an aggressive tread pattern and provide a balance of precise steering and optimised comfort to make the most of available traction. The new Kodiak tyres are wider than previous models giving you the control and confidence of sure-footed traction.

LCD instrument cluster
A compact all-LCD instrument cluster gives the rider a clear picture of speed, transmission status fuel level and more, in a modern and compact package.

Wider track
Unlike many middleweight utility ATVs, Kodiak 450 isn’t just a smaller engine under a full-size body. Yamaha built the Kodiak 450 from the ground up to give riders a compact chassis for precise handling and manoeuvrability on the trail. The Kodiak 450 has a wider track, longer wheelbase, and wider tyre tread resulting in improved rider control, confidence and safety.

Class-leading brakes
Hydraulic front disc brakes serve up a powerful and consistent feel and braking performance to add to rider confidence, while the sealed rear brake is protected from dirt, rocks and mud.

Long travel suspension
The Kodiak 450 features independent double wishbone suspension for an optimized vehicle stance, a light steering feel, and an improved feeling from the shocks across the entire range of travel. With 170 mm of front wheel travel and 188 mm at the rear, Kodiak 450 provides excellent rider comfort even in the roughest terrain.

More comfortable seat
Kodiak 450 offers a riding position with the same roomy feel as the larger Kodiak 700. With tall handlebars and a seat that is long and plush, it improves rider comfort over extended work days.

Larger floor beds
Kodiak 450 offers large textured floorboards and is one example of how every aspect of the Kodiak 450 was designed to bring class-leading levels of refinement to the middleweight 4×4 ATV segment.

Rubber engine mounts
The Kodiak 450 features newly developed rubber engine mounts that isolate vibrations from the engine bay and give the rider one of the smoothest rides ever offered in a utility ATV.

Redesigned thumb throttle
The Kodiak 450 boasts improved rider comfort for extended work days with a new oversized thumb throttle reducing rider fatigue and improving control.

All-wheel downhill engine braking
Yamaha’s Ultramatic system earns its place as the most reliable transmission in the market. An automatic centrifugal clutch maintains constant belt tension for reduced belt wear and a sprag clutch provides Yamaha’s renowned all-wheel engine braking.

Full-length skid plates
A full-length protective skid plate with easy access service points allows easy servicing and maintenance without removing the skid plate.

Marine-grade electrical system
Yamaha ATVs feature marine-grade waterproof connectors for maximum weather-proofing, maximising durability and improving serviceability, too.

Simplified servicing
The Kodiak 450 powertrain is designed to make service and maintenance as stress-free as possible. The airbox features tool-less access to the air filter element, the engine and differential feature convenient oil drain holes, and vehicle electronics are located high on the chassis, under the front centre panel, for easy access.

Efficient power output
The Kodiak 450 features a torquey 421cc SOHC engine designed to provide a balance of responsive power and smooth character for long riding days with minimal fatigue. Mikuni® fuel injection means easy cold starts and flawless fuel delivery in nearly any condition, while liquid-cooling and a high-volume fan system ensure reliable, consistent performance for years to come.

12 Volt output
A standard 12V power port makes it easy to keep devices charged over a long riding day.

Large-capacity steel racks
Rugged, large-diameter steel cargo racks with durable wrinkle paint finish can pack a total of 120 kg combined. A heavy-duty ball mount comes standard and Kodiak 450 can tow more than 600 kg.

Under-seat storage
The seat can be easily removed to access the newly sealed storage area for added items during your ride.

Pre-wiring for winch
With winch wiring pre-installed at the factory, and a range of Genuine Yamaha Accessories designed in concert with the machine, Kodiak 450 is ready to be configured to suit nearly any job, from towing and field work to hunting and recreational riding.
